Taylor Swift urges people to vote after sweeping up the American Music Awards

Taylor Swift's political awakening was front and centre at the American Music Awards on Tuesday, where she also swept up big.

The pop star collected four awards at the ceremony, eclipsing Whitney Houston to become the AMAs most decorated female winner of all time.

While collecting the Artist of the Year award, Swift encouraged fans to vote in the upcoming midterm elections, as they did for her in the AMAs.

"This award and every single award given out tonight were voted on by the people," she said. "And you know what else is voted on by the people? It's the midterm elections on November 6th. Get out and vote. I love you guys." Read more...
