Mixing super heroes, memes, girl power, and social justice in one movie is just about the most 21st century theme you could think of. That movie is Black Panther, and it just became the first super hero movie to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
Aside from that, it's also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, Achievement in Production Design, Best Original Song, Achievement in Costume Design, Best Original Score, Achievement in Sound Editing, and Achievement in Sound Mixing. YO.
