Jake Gyllenhaal paused his play to help an audience member because he's literally the best

If for some ridiculous reason you needed further proof that Jake Gyllenhaal is pretty much a perfect human being, then look no further.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Gyllenhaal spoke to Fallon about Sea Wall/A Life — the play he's currently starring in at The Public Theater in New York. And from the sounds of it, even being immersed in a lengthy monologue doesn't deter him from helping a stranger.

"The other day a woman was coughing, like really, really loudly," Gyllenhaal says in the clip above. "And I felt so bad for her."

Rather than ignoring it, Gyllenhaal broke from his monologue to ask the woman if she was okay. And even though she said she was, he went one better. Read more...
