The Case Against Adnan Syed isn't a retelling of the case that launched the hit podcast, Serial. It's more a continuation, as this first look trailer makes clear.
The 2014 series covered the murder of Hae Min Lee, an 18-year-old student, and the 1999 arrest of her boyfriend, Adnan Syed, who was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder. The four-part HBO series looks at the aftermath of Serial's run, including Syed's ongoing attempts to win an appeal.
