Forbes was hotly critiqued for calling Kylie Jenner a soon-to-be "self-made billionaire" back in July, when she was poised to hit the $1 billion mark. Now she's hit it, so they did it again.
As part of its annual ranking of the world's richest people, the magazine named 21-year-old Jenner, who founded beauty company Kylie Cosmetics in 2015, the world's youngest self-made billionaire. (She took the throne from Mark Zuckerberg, who became a billionaire at age 23.)
Of course, this distinction seems dubious to many people — including the folks at Dictionary.com — because the term "self-made" doesn't square with Jenner's status as a member of one of a famously wealthy and visible family. Read more...
