JoJo Rabbit looks exactly like the ridiculous Nazi satire you'd expect from Thor Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.
Waititi himself plays Adolf Hitler, the imaginary friend of aspiring 10-year-old Nazi JoJo (Roman Griffin Davis). JoJo's Nazi training is going just swimmingly until he finds a Jewish girl, Elsa, hidden in the attic (Thomasin McKenzie), being protected by none other than JoJo's mother (Scarlett Johansson). JoJo and Elsa start to bond, forcing the young boy to question his allegiance and whether the whole Nazi thing is maybe – you know, bad.
The cast also features Rebel Wilson, Alfie Allen, Sam Rockwell, and Stephen Merchant. Waititi penned the screenplay based on Christine Leunens' Caging Skies. Read more...
