Based on the novel of the same name by Susanna Jones, The Earthquake Bird tells the story of a cryptic love triangle set in Tokyo in the 1980s.

Lucy Fly (Alicia Vikander) is an expat living abroad, where she befriends Lily, another foreigner. Both women have fraught romantic relationships with Teiji (Naoki Kobayahi), Lucy's intense on again, off again lover. Their story is introduced as Lucy being questioned about Lily's disappearance.

Wash Westmoreland (Still Alice) adapted Jones' book for the small screen, and directed the film as well.

Earthquake Bird will be available for streaming on Netflix on Nov. 15. Read more...
