These hand-washing stations are made from 100,000 plastic bottles

Timor-Leste, a tiny nation in Southeast Asia, is facing a huge problem – 72% of its population does not have access to hand-washing facilities with soap and water. On top of that, there are 70 tonnes of plastic generated every day. 

Now a Mercy Corps initiative, along with other organizations, has turned over 100,000 plastic water bottles into hand-washing stations for communities that are vulnerable to the spread of COVID-19. Read more...
