On Wednesday, pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech announced that they had completed a clinical trial of a COVID-19 vaccine, and that data showed it was 95% effective at protecting against the virus. The companies had said last week that the vaccine appeared over 90% effective in an early analysis. Moderna also announced on Monday that one of its vaccine candidates for COVID-19 was over 94% effective, according to a preliminary analysis. Pfizer, a United States company, and BioNTech, a German company, are the first to complete phase 3 clinical testing for a COVID-19 vaccine, which is the final stage before a drug can be approved in the U.S.  Read more...
