Hoping to score a new iPad this holiday season? So is everyone else, apparently: Google's 2020 Shopping Gift Guide notes that searches for tablets are up 12% this year, with the all-new iPad Air from September nabbing the No. 5 spot on its list of the top trending items for techies.
Anecdotally, it's been way harder than usual to find an Apple tablet in stock lately. Best Buy is pretty well picked-over — the new iPad was completely sold out on its website the last time we checked — and much of Amazon's extremely fickle inventory is on backorder until after Christmas.
